हिन्दू धर्म में शायद ही कोई ऐसा घर होगा जहाँ दीपक प्रज्जवलित न किया जाता हो । हमारे शास्त्रो में भी लिखा है कि दीपक जलाने से घर में नकारात्मकता का विनाश होता है और घर में सकारात्मकता के विचार आते है । घर के सदस्य एक दूसरे से अच्छी तरह से बात करते है और मिलते है ।

हर त्यौहार और एक छोटी सी पूजा में भी हम घर में दीपक जगाना नही भूलते । किन्तु हम अक्सर इस असमंजस में रहते है क़ि घी का दीपक जलाये या तेल का और ऐसे कहा लगाए । हर पूजा का अपना अपना महत्व होता है और पूजा करने का तरीका भी अलग होता है । हम आपको कुछ खास बाते बतायेगे जिसका ध्यान पूजा के वक़्त रखना चाहिए ।

* घी और तेल दोनों के दीपक जलाने चाहिए और घी का दीपक अपने दायें हाथ की ओर, तेल का दीपक अपने बाये हाथ की ओर जलाना चाहिए ।

* पूजा में पीले अक्षत (चावल) चढ़ाना शुभ होता है । कभी भी खंडित चावल का उपयोग मत करे । हमेशा अखंडित (पूरे) चावल का ही उपयोग करे । चावल को पीला करने के लिए हल्दी और पानी का इस्तेमाल करे ।

* पूरा बना हुआ पान चढ़ाना चाहिए । ये सबसे श्रेष्ठ होता है । आप अकेला पान का पत्ता भी रख सकते है और साथ में इलायची, लौंग, गुलकंद आदि भी चढ़ाना चाहिए ।

* तुलसी के पत्ते, कमल, बिल्वपत्र और गंगाजल, इनका उपयोग कभी भी कर सकते है पूजन के समय क्योंकि ये कभी भी बासी नही माने जाते है ।

* पूजा से पहले देवी देवताओ को आमंत्रित करे और उनका ध्यान करते हुए उन्हें आसन दे, स्नान करवाये, धुप-दीप जलाये, कुमकुम, फूल और प्रसाद आदि चढ़ाये ।

* किस देवी या देवता को कोन सा कपड़ा चढ़ाना चाहिए ये भी महत्वपूर्ण है । विष्णु जी को पीले रंग का रेशमी कपडा चढ़ाना चाहिए| माँ दुर्गा और सूर्य देव व गणपति जी को लाल रंग का, शिव शंकर जी को सफ़ेद वस्त्र चढ़ाये ।

* पूजा में अपने कुल देवता, कुल देवी, घर के वास्तु देवता और ग्राम देवता आदि का ध्यान जरूर करे और इन सब की पूजा भी करनी चाहिए ।

* पूजन के वक़्त हम जिस भी आसन पर बैठे उसे कभी भी पैरो से सरकाना (खिसकाना) नहीं चाहिए । अगर जरुरत हो तो हाथ से ही इधर उधर करना चाहिए ।

* घी का दीपक रोज घर में जलाने से घर के कई वास्तु दोष दूर हो जाते है क्योंकि दीपक के धुएं से नकारात्मक ऊर्जा खत्म हो जाती है ।

* कोई भी शुभ काम हो पंचदेव की पूजा अनिवार्य है । श्रीगणेश, सूर्यदेव, दुर्गा, शिव और विष्णु को पंचदेव कहते है ।

* फूल चढ़ाने संबंधी कुछ विशेष बाते । शिवजी को कभी भी केतकी के फूल और तुलसी नहीं चढ़ानी चाहिए । सूर्य देव की पूजा में अगस्त्य के फूल नहीं चढ़ाने चाहिए । गणपति जी को भी तुलसी नही चढ़ानी चाहिए ।

* पूजन कक्ष की रोज साफ़ सफाई करनी चाहिए । पूजा कक्ष में या आस पास कबाड़, बेकार चीज़े या भारी सामान न रखे ।

* वायु पुराण में लिखा है कि अगर कोई भी बिना नहाये फूल या तुलसी तोड़ता है तो उसकी पूजा को देवता स्वीकार नही करते । इसलिए हमेशा नहाने के बाद ही फूल पत्ते आदि तोड़े ।

* पूजा में अनामिका ऊँगली का भी बहुत महत्व है । अनामिका ऊँगली (रिंग फिंगर) से ही चन्दन, कुमकुम, हल्दी और मेहँदी लगानी चाहिए बल्कि किसी ओर ऊँगली से नहीं ।

* कभी भी देवताओं के सामने जलाये दीपक को खुद नही बुझाना चाहिए । देवताओ को धुप दीप जरूर दे और भोग भी लगाए ।

* शिवलिंग पर हल्दी नहीं चाँदनी चाहिए और न ही शंख से जल चढ़ाना चाहिए । शिवलिंग की जलाधारी पर हल्दी चढ़ा सकते है ।

* कभी भी बासी फूल ना चढ़ाये और इनको चढ़ाने से पहले साफ़ पानी से जरूर धो ले ।

* पूजा के वक़्त चमड़े की चीज़ों का परित्याग करे जैसे की बेल्ट और पर्स पूजा के वक़्त अपने पास न रखे ।

* परिक्रमा से संबधित कुछ बाते : श्रीगणेश जी की 3, सूर्य देव की 7, विष्णुजी की 4, शिवजी की आधी, हनुमान जी की 3 परिक्रमा करनी चाहिए ।
